Partners in empowering women
Schwarzkopf Professional has announced that it had teamed up with the prestigious Mrs South Africa pageant, becoming the first headline sponsor for the contest. Mrs South Africa is the number one pageant for married women in the country. Over the years, the pageant has grown in size and prestige, making a partnership with a leading brand like Schwarzkopf Professional a natural progression.
“Mrs South Africa is all about ‘real, sophisticated, successful and authentic women’. With our world-leading brands, such as IGORA Royal, BlondMe, BC Bonacure and OSiS, and our committed people, we stand for exactly these values. We want to support the Mrs South Africa initiative of motivating and inspiring South African women all over the country to live their dreams,” said Stefan Geister, General Manager Beauty Care Professional at Henkel South Africa.
Apart from having the naming rights, the Schwarzkopf Professional team will participate in Mrs South Africa events throughout 2015. The team will also get involved in Schwarzkopf Professional’s social initiatives, such as Shaping Futures.
“We are committed to empowering underprivileged South African youth. Our cooperation with Mrs South Africa will support Shaping Futures, which teaches and uplifts youngsters and informal hairdressers. It provides them with valuable skills and tools to build careers in the hairdressing industry. By raising awareness about Shaping Futures, we can inspire and motivate other organizations to start similar empowerment projects,” Geister declared.
Mrs South Africa 2016 and her two princesses will also receive a year’s worth of Schwarzkopf Professional products as part of their prizes.
Shaping Futures, Schwarzkopf Professional’s unique training program, is a worldwide social initiative dedicated to teaching disadvantaged youngsters the craft of hairdressing. Watch our video and see what Shaping Futures has achieved so far!
